Check out the five trends we saw on the runways

From the runways to the streets, Paris Fashion Week concluded this Tuesday, March 5th, marking the time to reveal the trends set to emerge later this year. “Black is the new black”: according to Valentino, it’s now evident that the darkest color will be prominently featured in the upcoming cold seasons. Both Valentino and other brands have showcased their all-black Fall/Winter 2024 ready-to-wear collections at Paris Fashion Week. Mugler and Yohji Yamamoto also selected black as one of the season’s primary colors.

Ties are also in the game. The influence of menswear on women’s collections has been prevalent in recent fashion seasons, especially showcased through oversized suits. Now, it’s time for the ties: Loewe, Nehera, Schiaparelli, and Vaquera have brought ties to their Fall/Winter 2024 ready-to-wear runways.

Shimmeringly beautiful! Tinsel-like fabrics have been adopted by brands such as Dries Van Noten, Underground, and Valentino this season in Paris, capturing the spotlight. Similarly, fringes were seen at Mugler, Chloé, Stella McCartney, Isabel Marant, and Victoria Beckham.

It’s winter—of course, furry coats and fur-embellished outerwear were everywhere on the runways, with highlights on the Off-White and Miu Miu runways. Surprisingly, furry shoes and bags appeared at Acne Studios, Dries Van Noten, and Saint Laurent, where fuzzy bags complemented the looks. Additionally, at Zimmermann, alongside stuffed animal-like totes, fur-adorned sandals provided an alternative twist on the footwear trend.
