On Thursday, September 5th, Ralph Lauren presented the Spring/Summer 2025 collection in the Hamptons, preceding the official start of NYFW, and we have many thoughts on this show, which reinforced the preppy and classic essence of the designer.
Let’s begin with the choice of location. For a sophisticated presentation that perfectly aligns with the brand’s lifestyle, the location couldn’t be random. With a summery and beachy vibe to showcase the brand’s three lines, evoking a family-like atmosphere, there was only one place that fit this description perfectly: The Hamptons.
As for the show, it had everything the brand usually presents: sport-chic looks with plenty of sophistication, classic pieces reminiscent of the old-money aesthetic, and even a touch of beachwear while maintaining all these elements. But we can’t say it was more of the same.
What trends did the show highlight?
In this collection, we noticed strong trends for the season, like the very popular boho-chic aesthetic. From accessories like stone and bead earrings and necklaces to headwear that strongly embraced the boho style.
Belts in almost every look added a western touch, another characteristic of the brand. We also noticed a strong presence of fringe, ruffles, lace, and denim. Plaid was also well-represented with unique drapings that gave off a strong grunge vibe.
We can see that the location paired perfectly with Ralph Lauren’s collection, leaving guests with a sense of perfect harmony. Ralph Lauren has been gathering with his family in the Hamptons for 50 years and 1considers it a retreat and source of inspiration. He masterfully conveyed this energy in the show.
As for the casting, the choice of models was impressive, featuring big names like Naomi Campbell, who opened the show, and Christy Turlington. The guests complemented the brand’s aesthetic with stunning fashion choices that added even more charm to the event.
