In their fifth collection and first-ever runway show at SPFW, Marco Normando and Emidio Contente had much to unveil.

On October 16, attendees were transported to a universe only Normando could create with such mastery.

Using the northern region of Brazil as a backdrop and drawing inspiration from the modernist philosophers of the 20th century, the duo from Pará crafted a unique, authentic, and powerful world, fully immersing the audience in Normando’s universe.

What comes to mind when you think of Brazilian fashion? Marco and Emidio stray from the obvious without losing sight of their roots. Ironic fish-shaped bags contrast with elegant, well-structured power suits. Sailor hats appear alongside latex coats and boots. Men in panties share the stage with Amazonian “office sirens.” The designers constantly navigate between the traditional and the grandiose, creating a world entirely their own.

Highlights include fish-tail details, prints featuring scales and tree trunks, fabrics and cutouts resembling wooden planks. Standout pieces include a top featuring a map of Brazil, pointed shoulders, and baby tees with clever wordplay.

The product variety is vast, and the pieces surprise by defying expectations, proving that everyday items can be reinvented and transformed into something extraordinary.
