Inflated Rubber Boots and Shaggy Outfits Took to the Runway This Thursday
On Thursday (18) morning, Rick Owens unveiled his Autumn/Winter 2024 menswear collection for his eponymous label during Paris Men’s Fashion Week. “We are showcasing the collection in my home and working compound where we began selling our collections 25 years ago,” Rick Owens remarked.
The opening ensemble immediately garnered attention: a pair of inflated rubber pull-on stretch boots, a collaboration with London designer Straytukay. A version of Rick Owens’ Kiss Boot by Leo Prothman also graced the runway for the Autumn/Winter 2024 menswear season.
“I stumbled upon a cheekily improvised version of my Kiss Boot online and couldn’t resist asking London designer Leo Prothman for permission to produce them,” Rick Owens stated.
Matisse De Maggio has boldly championed sustainability and artistic expression in fashion by creating jackets and pants from recycled, discarded bicycle tires.
Rick Owens 2024 collection serves as a poignant critique of the disheartening aspects of human behavior, marked by grotesque and inhuman proportions that mirror a visceral response to some of the most disheartening elements of our existence.
For Rick Owens 2024 collection signifies a fusion of knit spacesuits crafted from recycled cashmere, alpaca, and merinos, as well as turbo-ply shrouds and hoodies. The collection also features shaggy and cargo jumpsuits, capes, pants, jackets, coats, and tunics.
