Hailing from the U.K., “Adolescence” invites viewers into the unraveling world of the Miller family after their son, Jamie, is arrested for the brutal stabbing of a schoolmate. Although the storyline is fictional, the series was born out of very real concerns. “I didn’t want to create another drama about gangs or stereotypical troubled youth,” Graham explained in a behind-the-scenes interview. “I wanted people to see this family and think, ‘That could be us.’ Because these incidents aren’t happening in a vacuum—they’re happening in ordinary homes, to ordinary people.”

At the heart of the series is Owen Cooper, a breakout star making his acting debut as Jamie. At just 15 years old, Cooper delivers a performance layered with innocence, fear, and ambiguity—blurring the lines between perpetrator and victim in a way that keeps audiences questioning everything.
