The brand embraces upcycling, new techniques, and cultural references to refresh its identity at SPFW N58.
On the penultimate day of São Paulo Fashion Week N58, Amapô Jeans, led by Carolina Gold and Pitty Taliani, returned to the runway with a new collection celebrating the brand’s 20th anniversary. Known for its work with denim, the label highlighted the versatility of the fabric with an innovative approach that prioritized the use of recyclable materials and upcycling techniques. The show was a display of creativity and environmental awareness, featuring pieces that explored different washes, colors, and finishes on denim, such as pleating, fraying, quilting, and metallic foil details.
The collection also drew heavily on Asian pop culture, inspired by the designers’ fascination with K-Pop and dramas—a passion they share with Carolina’s daughters. The soundtrack, composed of K-Pop songs and iconic scenes from dramas, complemented the tribute to Korean culture, which is a prominent influence in the Bom Retiro neighborhood where the founders grew up.
Highlights included classic items from the brand, such as the patchwork vest and balloon pants, which were reimagined through experimentation with sustainable denim. With this collection, Amapô reaffirmed its identity in Brazilian jeanswear, underscoring its commitment to conscious and innovative fashion.
