Balenciaga just launched its first standalone store ever. Located at 15 East Oak Street in Chicago, Illinois, the physical store allows customers to select and purchase products by themselves, without the assistance of employees.
At the Balenciaga new store standalone, customers can explore the newest collections, which feature ready-to-wear items for women and men, bags, shoes, jewelry, eyewear, and accessories.
Designed with the signature Raw Architecture concept, the new two-level, 641m² Balenciaga new store in Chicago showcases rough edges, free-standing partitions, and diverse materials, respecting and revealing structural elements, minimizing the use of new materials, and emphasizing the building’s history.
The store features vast brushed concrete floors and walls made of cement board panels. The illumination is enhanced by suspended ceiling mesh and industrial lighting, for example.
The interior design creates a warehouse or studio atmosphere with hot rolled metal tables, angel hair-finish metal shelving, and hanging pipe racks. The seating is upholstered in recycled leather, while underlit shelving, smoked glass panes, an inlaid carpet, and high-definition screens add warmth and modernity to the space.
