Designer Olivier Rousteing pays homage to the collections created by Pierre Balmain while infusing the brand’s luxurious French style that has set Balmain apart since its inception. The brand has always been modern and determined, but with classic cuts and shapes that have stood the test of time. This collection is a tribute to the 78-year-old House, showcasing the evolution of Balmain while inviting us to reflect on the future by taking inspiration from the past.

The show featured necklines that celebrated the female form, creating a stunning display of beauty. The opening looks were black and white and featured contemporary and shiny fabrics that set the tone for the rest of the collection. The mohair sets were vibrantly colored, while the checkered uniforms and summer dresses made from structural silk shone brightly under the spotlight.

Pearls and polka dots added a touch of elegance, and an 80s monogram was prominently displayed on a short skirt suit and a silk dress with a bow on the front. Capes, mohair capelets, floor-length cape dresses, and headwear added a sense of drama to the show. Olivier Rousteing skillfully incorporated haute couture techniques, silhouettes, and clothing recovered from Balmain’s founder, Pierre Balmain, into his designs, winning the show.
