The Air Swipe Bag is part of the Fall/Winter 2024 ready-to-wear collection
99% air and 1% glass – that is the new composition of Coperni’s Air Swipe Bag, which has previously featured meteorite, CD-player, and all-glass versions. Weighing only 33 grams, the bag’s dimensions are 27x16x6 centimeters.
Developed by Professor Ioannis Michaloudis, the Air Swipe Bag was first presented at Coperni’s Fall/Winter 2024 ready-to-wear runway show during Paris Fashion Week.

Utilizing NASA’s nanomaterial silica aerogel, acknowledged as the lightest solid on Earth, the Air Swipe bag predominantly embodies 99% pure absence and 1% glass, symbolizing the glass innovation of the future.
“This very delicate (and non-fragile) nanomaterial has been used by NASA to capture stardust: because it can withstand extreme heat (1200o Celsius) and a pressure of 4000 times its weight. This Air Swipe bag is the biggest ever object made of this space technology nanomaterial”, explained Coperni on Instagram.
