David Beckham is diving into the wellness world. On Thursday (July 11), the biotech company Prenetics announced Beckham as the co-founder and ambassador of a new health brand called IM8. The firm also revealed that he is now a strategic investor.

Beckham said in a statement that his career has provided him with access to medical, fitness, and exercise professionals who have contributed to his achievements. “Their guidance has been crucial to my health and well-being,” he said, adding that Prenetics is a firm focused on innovation.

Danny Yeung, CEO and co-founder of Prenetics, stated that Beckham’s involvement marks a transformative period for the company. “David Beckham epitomizes the values of discipline, teamwork, and health. We have a unique opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the consumer health and wellness industry,” Yeung added.

Details regarding IM8 are currently unavailable, but according to its website, the collaboration involved NASA’s former chief scientist.

Prenetics, originally founded in Hong Kong, went public through a SPAC (special purpose acquisition company) in 2021.
