To commemorate the release of the second drop of the “Été” capsule collection, the brand has taken over a store typically run by upscale retailer Tessabit.
Jacquemus is preparing for summer by taking the brand to Italy’s Lake Como, a picturesque and picture-perfect destination. Known for incorporating coastal European summer vibes into his collections, designer, and founder Simon Porte Jacquemus has always been motivated by numerous vacations in the Mediterranean heat. The French label has arrived in the upscale town of Cernobbio, taking over a store formerly run by Tessabit, as promised by the brand on its social media accounts through videos of boat rides over lakes and cabriolet vehicle excursions around the Italian town. The Molteni family established this premier store in 1953; it runs over a dozen brick-and-mortar locations along Lake Como’s shoreline and its online store.
The second drop of “Été,” a summer-themed capsule collection, is being introduced at the 538-square-foot Jacquemus pop-up. The concept was officially unveiled last month when the first shipment exclusively hit the shelves of Saks Fifth Avenue locations in New York and Beverly Hills and its online store. The designer, who was up in the southern French village of Bramejean before relocating to Paris and establishing his company in 2009, drew inspiration for the collection frequently from the French Riviera. This region greatly influences Jacquemus’ aesthetic. The collection features various reinterpretations of the designer’s characteristic looks for men’s and women’s ready-to-wear items and accessories. Exclusive hues like canary yellow and earth tones will be available at the pop-up. Around the world, the Été capsule will start to appear, with various products being offered in each city.
With its vintage wooden furniture and distinctive Italian mosaic flooring, the retail space has a charming retro feel that makes the objects stand out. Sun-shaped metal sculptures dominate the windows, bordered with straw-covered shutters to further convey the summertime atmosphere of the Capsu line and match the spectacular jewelry items that are part of it.
The trendy French company had already established pop-up shops in Italy before. The automated convenience store that inspired Jacquemus 24/24 retail model first appeared in Milan during fashion week in February last year. A few months later, the company unveiled its flagship store on Avenue Montaigne in Paris.
The Lake Como facility will remain open until October 16, 2023, and the Été line will be sold in other places worldwide with a distinctive selection for each site.
