São Paulo, April 2025 – Making his debut at the 59th edition of São Paulo Fashion Week, Leandro Castro presented the collection Linha (“Line”), enchanting the audience with a proposal that blends art, fashion, and sustainability. Inspired by Wassily Kandinsky’s text Point and Line to Plane, the show took place on April 8th at Shopping JK Iguatemi, establishing Leandro as one of the major highlights of the season.

The collection offered a reflection on the meaning of lines — those of life, nature, architecture, and the human body itself. In Linha, Leandro expands on the graphic idea of the line to construct visual narratives that connect points and create pathways through fabrics. The lines intertwine, unfold, and densify, drawing organic and three-dimensional shapes in space.

Staying true to his sustainable approach, the designer focused on the reuse of diverse textile waste — such as technical felt, denim, viscose, cotton, martial arts fabrics, and automotive materials — reinforcing the philosophy of wearable art. Each piece is treated as a unique work, employing techniques such as crochet, manual pleating, tailoring, and hand painting, in a palette of neutral tones like black, white, gray, and off-white.

The show also drew strong references from the Japonism of the 1980s, with oversized silhouettes and organic shapes. The pieces, which fit up to size 60, explore the contrast between structured fabrics like felt and lighter materials like organza. Shirts with exaggerated sleeves, crumpled-effect tailoring, pinstripes, pleating, and almost deconstructed crochet work gave texture and movement to the creations.

One of the standout looks featured strips of wood dyed gray, emphasizing the sculptural and timeless nature of the collection. All pieces are agender, reaffirming the brand’s commitment to inclusion and diversity.

The show, supported by Senac, Santista Jeanswear, and G. Vallone, featured direction and casting by Kadu Gandara, styling by Marcio Banfi, beauty by Helder Rodrigues, and jewelry created by Érica Sena.

In addition to the conceptual runway show, Leandro announced the launch of a commercial line from the collection, available for purchase at the BaFu store, located in Barra Funda, São Paulo. With an impeccable and deeply meaningful debut, Leandro Castro not only confirmed his talent but also introduced a fresh perspective on fashion, art, and sustainability at the largest fashion event in Latin America.
