The collection was inspired by the multicultural influences around La Serenissima.
This Wednesday (12), Max Mara presented the Cruise 2025 collection at the Palazzo Ducale (or Doge’s Palace) in Venice, Italy.
“The eternally beautiful city, so often represented as a woman embodying justice, harmony, power, progress, loyalty, and grace, is the perfect location for the Max Mara show,” says the brand notes.
The collection is inspired by the multicultural influences that turned Venice into a global trade powerhouse, a style hub, and a vibrant center for art and culture. The idea was to create “a wardrobe that expresses a slightly debonair, adventurous, almost swashbuckling feel, to be worn by a confident modern woman with a certain swagger,” said Ian Griffiths, creative director of Max Mara.
Max Mara brings us the ultimate in sophisticated outerwear, from ‘robes de chambre’ to classic trench coats and tabarri. The Cruise 2025 collection also offers various sleeves, gowns, flowing spolverini, tunics, and tailored suits. Neutral tones with metallic touches are a must this season.
Special elements include large tassels, chunky drawstrings, lavish handkerchief cuffs, and panne velvet pannier skirts. The highlight is a series of turban-inspired headpieces, designed with the legendary Stephen Jones.
