The “Suco de Axé” collection celebrates the ancestral culture of Salvador, Bahia.
With plenty of music, axé, and vibrant colors, Meninos Rei turned their São Paulo Fashion Week show into a true celebration. Special guests like Deborah Secco, Cris Vianna, Iccaro Silva, and Lore Improta graced the runway, while Sheila Mello and Beto Jamaica from the axé group É o Tchan added even more joy to the event.
Marking their tenth anniversary, creative directors and brothers Júnior and Céu Rocha focused on original prints, beachwear, and for the first time, introduced white pieces with subtle nude prints in homage to Oxalá, the father of all orixás.
The prints featured typical elements of Bahia’s daily life, including playful references like the fan—symbolizing the city’s heat—and the popular Brazilian frozen treat, “geladinho,” with the phrase “tem de quê?” (“what flavors do you have?”) beside it. The collection also honored Black Bahian culture, referencing candomblé and Filhos de Ghandy.
The brand’s show warmed the hearts of Brazilians in the audience, showcasing how the rich cultural heritage of a state can be transformed into a cohesive, well-executed collection.
