The Courrèges artistic director will present the collection at the next Haute Couture Fashion Week
Jean Paul Gaultier has chosen Nicolas Di Felice from Courrèges as the next guest couturier for his namesake fashion house. The collection is slated for presentation at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week, running from June 24 to 27.
Following six designers, such as Julien Dossena and Simone Rocha, and after only three years as Courrèges’ artistic director, Di Felice becomes the seventh to join Gaultier’s project. This initiative invites various couturiers to reinterpret Gaultier’s extensive and diverse body of work, accumulated over five decades.
“I have always found Nicolas to be bold and creative from the start of his career,” Gaultier stated, sharing the selection of Di Felice exclusively with WWD. “Choosing him fits perfectly with my vision of seeing how a designer can adapt my style.”
Honored by the invitation, Nicolas Di Felice expresses his enthusiasm about exploring the brand’s archives, deviating from the practicality and wearability often associated with Courrèges. For him, Jean Paul Gaultier represents the ideal blend of French couture and non-conformism, resonating deeply with his own career path.
