During a high-temperature event at the N56 fashion show in São Paulo, Forca Studio introduced their Heatweave collection, a significant endeavor aimed at addressing the growing concerns of environmental degradation. Designers Silvio De Marchi and Vivi Rivaben took this opportunity to emphasize the critical need for environmental consciousness within the fashion industry, marking a shift from their previous thematic focuses.
This collection was a testament to the studio’s dedication to eco-friendly and innovative textile methods. A highlight was the introduction of a special rubber material, developed by craftsmen in the Amazon. This material serves as a sustainable and adaptable alternative to conventional options like leather, and it also helps in building ties with artisan communities in the North. The collection’s diversity was further enriched with the use of linen, nylon, jeans, repurposed tire inner tubes, and a biodegradable latex material, offering a plant-based option to replace plastics in clothing.
The fashion show was further enlivened by the appearance of renowned actors Sérgio Guizé, Zion Fontana, and Nicolas Ahnert, showcasing the wide-ranging appeal of the collection. The men’s segment featured prominently oversized styles, while the women’s segment displayed a variety of cuts. The color scheme was versatile, with shades ranging from olive, caramel, and brown to striking neon yellow and purple, in addition to classic black, white, and gray.

Renata Buzzo, renowned for her lyrical approach to fashion, presents her collections as immersive experiences, blending text, film, and design. In her latest season, she draws inspiration from the celestial dance between the sea and the moon, weaving this narrative through the lens of romance. Her innovative perspective also explores the feminine symbolism associated with lunar cycles and their sway over various liquids, extending beyond the sea. The collection features meticulously crafted dresses in a palette of black, white, blue, and silver, mirroring the ocean’s ebb and flow. The fabrics are textured to evoke the rhythmic undulations of water, further enhanced by a luminescent finish reminiscent of moonlight glinting off the sea’s surface.

SANTA RESISTÊNCIA

An enthusiast for literature, Mônica Sampaio, a talented stylist, skillfully weaves the tales of Maranhão, Ceará, and Rio de Janeiro. Her creations are inspired by the migratory journey of the renowned folk poet Catulo, celebrated on Northeasterner’s Day, which falls on his birthday, October 8. Illustrator and watercolor artist Drawxi from Ceará contributed a captivating visual representation of “Luar do Sertão,” featuring a night sky adorned with stars, blending shades of blue and earth tones. The Mandacaru pattern, evoking the imagery of cacti and woodcuts, incorporates scenic elements from the cities where Catulo resided. The collection also showcases clay bags designed by Bahian artist Dih Morais and macramé outfits crafted by Ceará’s artisan Samara Luiza. This collective effort results in a unique fashion collection that vividly encapsulates the essence of rural and northeastern culture.

Diego Malicheski’s recent presentation at SPFWN56 is a homage to the atelier tradition. The opening garment, a white coat-like dress with pronounced shoulders, echoes the style of Belgian icon Martin Margiela, known for his elusive presence to keep the focus on creativity. This collection delves into the brand’s core, utilizing a familiar color scheme of black, white, gray, and beige, accented with lime green, dry pink, and deep blue. These hues are presented in geometric forms, underscoring the brand’s dedication to precision in modeling and tailoring.
The line introduces an urban flair, characterized by its pristine foundation and layered with intricate details like laser cuts, asymmetric patterns, and enveloped silhouettes. Skirts feature broad, draping strips for a dramatic effect. Metallic elements, such as eyelets and silver rings, are ingeniously integrated into the designs, notably on a long, adorned vest and a pair of leather pants.
Malicheski also reinterprets the classic trench coat, transforming it into dresses crafted from three different fabrics to suit various weather conditions. The collection is rounded off with black boots and micro bags adorned with fringes, solidifying the brand’s reputation for innovative yet elegant designs.
