Bottega Veneta Chooses Typical Celebrity Pictures for Their Latest Campaign

The throwback to 2005 brings to mind the “Hollywood Style” editorial in the January edition of Vogue Italia, where models recreated celebrities’ typical paparazzi pictures. With energetic cans or to-go coffees in hand, alongside shopping bags, and boyfriends or girlfriends by their side, the photos were a vivid representation of celebrity life. If you remember this, you’ll know exactly what we’re talking about.

The Paparazzi aesthetic has made a comeback in fashion. Casual and spontaneous snapshots of Kendall Jenner and A$AP Rocky living their everyday lives are now reinterpreted in Bottega Veneta’s campaign for pre-spring 2024, creating a false sense of closeness to them.

The campaign is not in the traditional sense,” explained Bottega Veneta. Kendall Jenner and A$AP Rocky were photographed when they were spotted by paparazzi wearing pieces from the Italian brand’s newest collection.

The paparazzi aesthetic is making a comeback in fashion as an expression of the search for authenticity and casualness, breaking down the barriers between public and private life. Gucci also explored this style in their Valigeria campaign, similar to FWRD in 2023 and Balenciaga in 2018.
